One more member gives us two more hands to do service in our community. At Lions we make things happen.
Lions Clubs set their programs independently, by creating and managing their own local projects or supporting larger projects operated at an international, national or district level. Lions Australia’s national website has up to date information about the many projects happening on a range of levels throughout Australia.
The Kalgoorlie Lions are most famous for their children’s Train. By running the Train at markets, fairs and other events the Kalgoorlie Lions can provide entertainment for children, while also raising money that can be fed into worthy causes.
Other activities that you might find the Kalgoorlie Lions doing include cooking at sausage sizzles, running the annual Children of Courage awards, donating goods, volunteering at community events, cleaning up the environment, and organizing fundraising events. We are open to ideas for new projects.
The Kalgoorlie Lions meet on the first Wednesday of each month. Meetings start at 7pm and are held at the Curtin University campus. Members do not have to come to every meeting. Visitors and guests are welcome to attend.
Lions believe that family comes first, then work, then Lions. As a member you would need to attend some meetings and be involved in some community service activities. However, Lions members are, first and foremost volunteers, so we appreciate any time that you can spare. We always try to be flexible, as we understand how busy our lives can be.
We ask members pay a small amount in annual dues to help run the organisation.
100% of funds donated by the public through fundraising is directed to the specific project for which it is intended.
